Market Close for Thursday, September 09, 2010

After the close…

We have TXN -1.6% after they gave narrow Q3 guidance.

Solid gains overseas and a smaller-than-expected weekly jobless claims count helped stocks start a strong session. However in early afternoon action, sellers applied pressure. The rebound faded into the close.

Notable stocks to report after the close include NSM and SWHC.

Futures are lower after hours: S&P 500 futures are -1.1 from fair value of 1098.70 and Nasdaq100 futures -0.87 points from fair value of 1884.12.

Nine of the ten sectors were in positive territory today, led by financial(+1.2%),telecom (+1.2%) and health care (+1.2%), while materials (-0.3%) sadly were in negative territory.

Tomorrow before the open BRC and LULU are schedule report and we there are no economic reports either.
