DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, March 13, 2020

There are no Dow stocks at 52 week highs. Dow stock 52 week lows include American Express (AXP), Boeing (BA), Caterpillar (CAT), Cisco (CSCO), Chevron (CVX), Disney (DIS), Goldman Sachs (GS), IBM (IBM), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), JPMorgan (JPM), McDonald’s (MCD), 3M (MMM), Nike (NKE), Pfizer (PFE), Travelers (TRV), United Technologies (UTX), Verion (VZ), Walgreens (WBA) and Exxon Mobil (XOM). That’s 19 of the the 30 Dow stocks.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +1110 points.

Thursday the Dow was down -2352.60 (-9.99%) at 21,200.62.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -25.71%.

There were zero Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were again just not to be found.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Boeing (BA) -18.11% (was down -18.15% yesterday), Dow (DOW) -15.43% (was down -10.86% yesterday), Disney (DIS) -12.98%, IBM (IBM) -12.85%, American Express (AXP) -12.42% (down -7.67% yesterday), and Goldman Sachs (GS) -12.34%.

Investors allocated a record $137 billion to cash-like assets over the five days ended March 11. Looks like some of it is coming back in this morning.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.2 cents at $2.303 per gallon.
