DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, January 3, 2020

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Apple (AAPL), Caterpillar (CAT), Goldman Sachs (GS), Intel (INTC), JPMorgan (JPM), Microsoft (MSFT), Nike (NKE), United Technologies (UTX) and Visa (V). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -295 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +330.36 (+1.16%) at 28,868.80.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +1.16%.

There were 24 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Disney (DIS) +2.47%, Boeing (BA) +2.32% and Apple (AAPL) +2.28%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Dow (DOW) -1.9%, Procter & Gamble (PG) -1.19% and Coca Cola (KO) -0.65%.

Dow to open lower as the United States killed a top Iranian military leader in an airstrike at Baghdad’s airport on Friday morning local time. The attack, which was ordered by President Donald Trump, raises the specter of retaliation and further military escalation in a very sensitive region.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent at $2.585 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 12/19/2019 after the market close of $0.52, missing estimates calling for $0.618 per share.

Walgreens (WBA) reports earnings on 1/8/2020 before the market open.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 1/14/2020 before the market open.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reports earnings on 1/15/2020 before the market open.

UnitedHealth (UNH) reports earnings on 1/15/2020 before the market open.
