The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, July 3, 2019

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include McDonald’s (MCD). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +47 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +69.25 (+0.26%) at 26,786.68.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +14.83%.

There were 21 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Verizon (VZ) +2.59%, Cisco (CSCO) +1.95% and McDonald’s (MCD) +1.59%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Chevron (CVX) -1.53%, Dow (DOW) -1.52% and Exxon Mobil (XOM) -1.10%.

The US economic expansion, at 121 months and counting, became the longest on record on July 1. The previous record was set during the 120-month expansion from March 1991 to March 2001. It ended as the dotcom bubble burst.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.8 cents at $2.748 per gallon.

Walgreens (WBA) reported earnings on 6/27/2019 before the market open of $1.47, beating estimates calling for $1.46 per share.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 6/27/2019 after the market close of $0.62, missing estimates calling for $0.698 per share.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reports earnings on 7/16/2019 before the market open.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) reports earnings on 7/16/2019 before the market open.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 7/16/2019 before the market open.
