DJIA Market Happenings For Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Cisco (CSCO) and Visa (V). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +105 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -79.29 (-0.30%) at 26,179.13.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +12.22%.

There were 9 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Apple (AAPL) +1.45%, Cisco (CSCO) +0.56% and JPMorgan (JPM) +0.48%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Walgreens (WBA) -12.81%, Nike (NKE) -1.01% and United Technologies (UTX) -0.97%.

Oil hits an almost 4-month high as West Texas Intermediate crude oil hit $62.99 a barrel Wednesday morning, its best level since November 7.

Private payrolls rose 129,000 in March vs. economist expectations of 173,000, according to ADP and Moody’s Analytics and comes a month after nonfarm payrolls increased by just 20,000.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $2.703 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 3/21/2019 after the market close of $0.68, beating estimates of $0.662 per share.

Walgreens (WBA) reported earnings on 4/2/2019 before the market open of $1.64, missing estimates calling for $1.732 per share.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 4/12/201 before the market open.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reports earnings on 4/15/201 before the market open.
