The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -81 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +122.80 (+0.51%) at 24,001.92.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +2.36%.

There were 20 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Boeing (BA) +2.55%, Caterpillar (CAT) +2.06%, Travelers (TRV) +1.34%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Pfizer (PFE) -2.38%, Merck (MRK) -1.23% and Microsoft (MSFT) -0.64%.

The Dow made it out of the correction zone yesterday.

Brazil approved a Boeing-Embraer joint venture of the Brazilian firm’s commercial aircraft division. Boeing (BA) will pay Embraer $4.2 billion for an 80% stake.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $2.243 per gallon.
