The Dow Market Happenings For Friday, December 29, 2017

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Caterpillar (CAT), United Technologies (UTX) and Visa (V). Dow stock 52 week lows include General Electric (GE).

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +76 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +63.21 (+0.26%) at 24,837.51.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +25.68%.

There were 19 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) +1.07% and Travelers (TRV) +0.66%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Coca Cola (KO) -0.46% and Home Depot (HD) -0.22%.

Goldman Sachs (GS) said the U.S. tax reform will cut profit this year by about $5 billion, mainly because of a tax targeting earnings held abroad.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.5 cents at $2.477 per gallon.

Earnings Reports.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 12/21/17 after the market close of $0.46, beating estimates of $0.437 per share.
