Wednesday the Dow was up +42.21 (+0.18%) at 22,872.89.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +15.74%.

The Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) +2.05% and Wal-Mart (WMT) +1.90%.

The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by General Electric (GE) -1.24% and Merck (MRK) -1.04%.

Disney (DIS -1.03%) was downgraded to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Buy’ at Guggenheim Securities.

JPMorgan Chase (JPM -0.30%) is down -0.6% in premarket trading after it reported Q3 FICC sales and trading revenue of $3.16 billion, below consensus of $3.18 billion.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is unchanged at $2.478 per gallon.
