DJIA Market Happenings For Thursday, December 29, 2016

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include JPMorgan (JPM). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -5 points.

Wednesday the Dow was down -111.36 (-0.56%) at 19,833.68.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +13.82%.

There was 1 Dow stock up Wednesday.

The Dow stock winner Wednesday was Travelers (TRV) +0.08%.

The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) -1.48%, Intel (INTC) -1.19%, Boeing (BA) -0.88% and Merck (MRK) -0.87%.

Jobless claims declined by 10,000 to 265,000 in the week ended Dec. 24 from a six-month high in the prior period. The four-week average of claims, a less-volatile measure than the weekly figure, fell to 263,000 from 263,750 the prior week.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.3 cents at $2.303 per gallon.

Earnings Reports.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 12/20/16 after the market close of $0.50, beating estimates calling for $0.431 per share.
