The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Caterpillar (CAT), Cisco (CSCO), IBM (IBM), Microsoft (MSFT) and United Technologies (UTX).There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +64 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -19.31 (-0.10%) at 18,473.75.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +6.02%.

There were 14 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +5.16% and United Technologies (UTX) +3.10%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by McDonald’s (MCD) -4.47% and Verizon (VZ) -1.90%.

The FOMC meeting ends today.

Apple (AAPL -0.69%) rallied +6% in overnight trading after its earnings report included news that iPhone sales were stronger than expected and that revenue fell by less than expected.

Coca-Cola (KO) reported earnings of $0.60, beating estimates calling for $0.58 per share. However revenue fell 5 percent, coming in at $11.54 billion in the latest quarter, shy of expectations which called for $11.6 billion.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down six-tenths of a cent at $2.148 per gallon.
