DJIA Market Happenings For Thursday, September 17, 2015

There are no Dow stocks at 52 week highs.Dow stock 52 week lows include Dupont (DD).

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -49 points.

Wednesday, the Dow was up +140.10 (+0.84%) at 16,739.95.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -6.08%.

There were 29 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by General Electric (GE) +2.49% and Chevron (CVX) +2.40%. Oil and Energy had a good day.

The Dow stock loser Wednesday was Verizon (VZ) -0.39%.

The FOMC is scheduled to announce its policy decision at 2:00 p.m. ET, while the Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. ET.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down six-tenths of a cent at $2.302 per gallon. Gas is $2.36 per gallon at the local Gig Harbor Costco.

1000 ET Sep Philadelphia Fed business outlook survey expected -2.4 to 5.9, Aug +2.6 to 8.3.

1100 ET Treasury announces amount of 2-year T-notes (previous $26 billion), 2-year floating rate notes (previous $13 billion), 5-year T-notes (previous $35 billion) and 7-year T-notes (previous $29 billion) to be auctioned Sep 22-24.

1400 ET FOMC announces interest rate decision.
