Tuesday, the Dow was up +228.89 (+1.40%) at 16,599.85.

Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +2.49% and Merck (MRK) +2.31%.

The Dow stock loser Tuesday was Disney (DIS) -0.38%.

The Fed starts 2-day policy meeting.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down 1.4 cents at $2.308 per gallon. Gas is $2.42 per gallon at the local Gig Harbor Costco.
