The Dow Market Happenings For Thursday, January 29, 2015

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +65 points.

Wednesday, the Dow closed down -195.84 (-1.13%) at 17,191.37.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -3.54%.

There were 3 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

Dow stock winners Wednesday included Boeing (BA) +5.40% and Caterpillar (CAT) +0.20%.

Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Chevron (CVX) -4.20% Microsoft (MSFT) -3.45%.

McDonald’s (MCD) rose more than 3% in after-hours trading after it was announced that CEO Don Thompson will retire and Steve Easterbrook will replace him.

Visa Inc. (V) is expected to post its Q1 earnings at $2.49 per share on revenue of $3.34 billion after the close today.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up six-tenths of a cent at $2.044 per gallon.
