Market Happenings For Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Bank of America (BAC), Chevron (CVX), Dupont (DDD), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), JPMorgan (JPM), 3M (MMM), United Technologies (UTX) and Exxon Mobil (XOM). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Tuesday the Dow closed up +22.19 (+0.14%) at 15,567.74.

This morning the Dow was indicated to open up +35 points.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +18.80%.

Airplane manufacturer Boeing (BA) reported improved earnings and revenue, and raised its guidance for the year. It’s shares will open at new highs.

Caterpillar (CAT) posted earnings and sales below forecasts and also lowered its earnings and sales outlook for the year.

European markets are higher and Asian markets ended mixed.

The national average price of gasoline is down six-tenths of a a cent to $3.660 per gallon.
