The Dow closed down -120.88 (-0.91%) at 13,190.84. The other indices were down a similar amount.

Well, Boehner’s big plan fell to the floor and vanished. Personally, I’m glad. I want to raise taxes on earnings of $250,00 or more.

For the week DJIA was up +0.4%, Nasdaq +1.7%, S&P 500 +1.2% and Russell 2000 +2.9%.

Year-to-date DJIA is up +8.0%, Nasdaq +16.0%, S&P 500 +13.7% and Russell 2000 +14.4%.

There were only two Dow stocks up today, AXP (+0.44%) and MCD (+0.16%).

That means there were 28 Dow stock losers led by BAC (-2.00%), XOM, DIS, CAT, PG, MRK, AA, T and CSCO.

Markets close early next Monday ahead of the Christmas holiday. It will most likely be a low volume trading week.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury note slipped to 1.77% from 1.8% on Thursday.
