DJIA Market Close For Monday, November 26, 2012

The Dow closed down -42.31 (-0.33%) at 12,967.37.

Today there were 8 Dow stocks up and included HPQ (+2.41%), CSCO, INTC, BA, CAT, DD, GE and UTX.

Dow losers were led by KO (-1.50%), AXP, MSFT, T, VZ, MCD, UNH, JNJ and BAC.

Home Depot (HD) put in another 52 week high.

Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, Mary Schapiro, announced she would be stepping down from her position, as expected, in mid-December. President Obama named Elisse Walter, who has been an SEC commissioner since 2008, as Schapiro’s replacement.

There was nothing new out of Europe.

The dollar was up on the euro and British pound but lost ground versus the Japanese yen.

Oil for January delivery was down 54 cents to settle at $87.74 a barrel.

Gold futures for December delivery was down $1.80 to settle at $1,749.60 an ounce.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was higher, pushing the yield down to 1.67% from 1.69% Friday.

Off-hand, I think December will be an up month and have already began building up my positions.
