HP Blows: DJIA Market Close For Tuesday, November 20, 2012

The Dow ended down -7.45 (-0.06%) at 12,788.51.

Hewlett-Packard blows it once again. Its now at a 10 year low and taking a 8.8 billion write-down on the Autonomy purchase.

I hope you don’t own HPQ stock.

Today was a nothing day other than the HP announcement.

There were 18 Dow stocks up today led by BAC (+1.48%), AXP, DIS, BA, HD and MCD.

Losers were led by HPQ (-11.95%), INTC, AA, CVX, IBM, T and CAT.

Gold futures for December delivery lost $10.80 to $1,723.60 an ounce.

The dollar was down against all major overseas currencies: the euro, the British pound and Japanese yen.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was down, pushing the yield up to 1.66% from 1.61% late Monday.
