The Dow closed up +95.38 (+0.72%) at 13,424.23.
There were 25 Dow stocks in the up column, led higher by BAC (+3.51%), MRK, HD. JPM, PFE, WMT, TRV and AA.
Losers, four of them were T, AXP, VZ, KO and CAT.
For me, it was kind of a ho, hum day. PSVIX, a small cap fund, was up, but not enough to say it has turned around. The other fund I have, ODVYX is an emerging market fund, and it hasn’t hardly skipped a beat. I’m wishing I’d put more into that one.
Tomorrow we have earnings reports from IBM, INTC, JNJ, KO and UNH.
The dollar was up against the euro, the British pound and Japanese yen.
Oil for November delivery slipped a penny to settle at $91.83 a barrel.
Gold futures for December delivery lost $22.10 to end at $1,737.60 an ounce.
The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was down, pushing the yield up to 1.67% from 1.66% late Friday.
