DJIA Market CLose for Tuesday, June 26, 2012

The Dow closed up +32.01 (+0.26%) at 12,534.67.

What’s my thought? We go lower tomorrow.

Today we had 16 of 30 Dow stocks higher, led by CVX (+1.89%), GE, XOM, DIS, MCD and JPM.

Unchanged were AA and TRV.

The 14 components lower, were led by KFT (-1.17%), HPQ, DD, CSCO, IBM and CAT.

Today, a housing report provided some early optimism, showing that U.S. home prices rose in April for the first time in seven months. But then, a report on consumer confidence signaled weakness, putting stocks under pressure. The big question is how will the Eurozone play out?

The dollar was flat against the euro and the British pound, but slipped against the Japanese yen.

Oil for August delivery was up by 14 cents to $79.35 a barrel.

Gold futures for August delivery were down $13.50 to $1,574.90 an ounce.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury fell, pushing the yield up to 1.62% from 1.61% late Monday.

Tomorrow before the open, notable stocks expected to report earnings include CMC, GIS, LEN, LNN, MKC, MON and UNF.

Wal-Mart and Merck both hit 52 week highs today.
