DJIA / Market Close for Monday, February 27, 2012

The Dow closed down a whole -1.44 points (-0.01%) at 12,981.51. Once again, it couldn’t hold onto 13,000.

Oil dropped a bit, -1%. Not much in my opinion.

S&P 500 hit another new high at 1,371.94. It’s highest since June 2008. The S&P 500 is up 9% this year.

Banks were leading the charge in the Dow today, with JPM, BAC and AXP zipping higher. Only 12 of the Dow 30 stocks closed higher.

HPQ, BA and AA were the big DJIA losers today.

Tomorrow before the open, notable stocks expected to report earnings include ABVT, AMED, ARCC, ARIA, AMAP, AZO, BMO, CVC, CRZO, TAST, CDI, CRNT, GTLS, XTEX, DSX, DPZ, ECL, FDML, FE, FIG, FDP, HSII, HFC, IPXL, IPCC, MGLN, MENT, BABY, NRG, NWN, ODP, OMG, OSG, PRX, PQ, POZN, RBA, RDC, SAFM, SDRL, SRE, SAH, SJI, SUMR, TECD, THC, TTI, VIT, WNR, and XYL.
