AFP – Prime Minister Julia Gillard Sunday warned critics of the planned merger between Singapore and Australia’s stock exchanges against seeking to “disturb” long-standing foreign investment processes.

Cooperator in inside trading case settles with SEC (AP)

AP – A Florida investor who cooperated with a government probe of what’s been called the biggest-ever hedge fund insider trading case has settled civil charges.

SEC sets aside $450M for whistleblowers (AP)

AP – The Securities and Exchange Commission says it has set aside about $450 million for payments to outside whistleblowers whose information results in successful cases and penalties collected from companies or individuals.
